Window Installation by Clint Bearden at DrewLewis for Midtown Festival of Art

When I lived in New York,  I was intrigued by window displays.  Certainly, Linda Fargo (window artist at Bergdorff's NY) is the master.  She transports the audience 'through the glass' into fantastic realms.  I have always wanted to explore this 'artistic medium.'  So when David and Seth at DrewLewis Boutique offered me the opportunity to do a window art installation in their store for Atlanta's Midtown Arts Festival... I jumped.

Confession: When I was a little kid, we had this big picture window. I used create seasonal scenes out of construction paper and tape them to the window.  At age 6.. I guess you could say these were my first public art shows....(ha!)  

This window is really an extension of my current exploration, this sculptural deminsion made from 'junk.'  I scavenger through construction sites and junk stores..reclaiming wood, watches, clocks, and vintage appliances. Art from our discarded junk--a collision of vintage and modern.  It is my take on a 'steampunk' salon... and my first window!
